What specific skin diseases does Dr. Joshi treat?

Dr. Joshi is a specialist GP with advanced training in dermatology, including conditions like eczema, dermatitis, acne, and pigmentation, as well as expertise in skin cancer medicine and surgery. She is proficient in treating and managing all these areas.

What types of skin cancer treatments are offered?

We provide skin cancer screening services, recognizing that Australia has one of the highest skin cancer rates starting from age 15. Additionally, we offer biopsies for any suspicious skin lesions and excision of various confirmed skin cancers, including melanomas on the face and body.

What are the aesthetic medicine services provided?

Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations prohibit us from providing specific details, as this could be construed as advertising. However, we can assure you that we adopt a comprehensive approach to assessing and treating your age-related concerns. Our holistic management strategy utilizes Dr. Joshi’s signature Full Face approach to Aesthetics (FFA), addressing the three key aspects of aging: lines and wrinkles, skin disorders, and volume loss.

What does whole-face balancing involve?

Due to TGA regulations, we are limited in what we can say. However, we start with a comprehensive consultation to address your concerns, take photos, and explain your condition. We also screen for patients who may not be suitable for our services. If surgery is the best option for you, we will inform you. Otherwise, we will create a plan together, detailing the time and financial investment required. If we decide to proceed, we will begin initial treatment on the same day, aiming to reach maintenance within four months.

What are the different types of injectables and collagen-inducing therapies used? How does Dr. Joshi tailor skincare treatments to individual needs?

These are excellent questions, best discussed during a consultation for two key reasons: Firstly, every face ages differently, so individual concerns and treatment options will vary. This is not a retail transaction, but a personalized treatment plan tailored to you. Secondly, TGA regulations restrict us from discussing these treatments in detail publicly, as they involve prescription medications.

What is Dr. Joshi’s background and training in surgical procedures?

Dr. Joshi has over a decade of experience as an accredited trainee in Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2002 to 2011. From 2012 to 2014, she trained as a GP and qualified as a Fellow of the College of GPs. She further pursued mental health training from 2012 to 2018, and from 2018, she also specialized in dermatology and skin cancer medicine and surgery. Additionally, she undertook aesthetics training starting in 2015, enhancing her expertise in the field she works in today.

How does her experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology enhance her current practice?

Unlike many other surgical specialties, Obstetrics and Gynecology primarily involves working with awake female patients. The procedural work is typically performed under local anesthesia, making it crucial to effectively manage awake patients by:

- Providing distractions to alleviate anxiety during procedures

- Ensuring gentle and swift handling of delicate tissues to minimize pain and discomfort

- Maintaining accuracy and efficiency due to patients being awake.

These skills are also invaluable in aesthetics and skin cancer work, where patients are often awake and may experience anxiety.

Can I see before-and-after photos of previous patients?

Certainly! While a few Before/After (B/A) images are showcased on our Instagram pages, the majority are available for viewing during your consultations. This allows you to observe the outcomes of our procedures, providing insight into the results you can anticipate if we collaborate, and aiding in managing your expectations.

What can I expect during a consultation and treatment planning session? How are natural and subtle results ensured?

During your 45-minute consultation, we'll discuss your reasons for visiting, assess your concerns with detailed examination and photos, and determine if Dr. Joshi can realistically help you. You'll also get a sense of your comfort level with her, aiding in decision-making. If it's a mutual "HELL YES," we'll finalize the plan for the initial four-month period, aiming to start treatment on the same day with the remaining 15 minutes.

The way you can ensure subtle results is?

By looking at the B/As we will show you and determine if those results are reflective of the type of results you are seeking for yourself The timeframe needed to achieve these results as delays will affect outcomes At every appointment we will check in and ensure you are still happy with the way things are progressing.

What are the payment options and is insurance accepted?

Skin cancer and medical appointments are eligible for a Medicare rebate, which will be processed on your behalf. Aesthetics appointments, however, do not qualify for a Medicare rebate. Payment can be made via credit or debit card, with a 1% surcharge applicable to all transactions.

What follow-up care is provided after treatments?

After most treatments, our follow-up protocol typically includes:

- Verbal instructions provided during your visit.

- Written instructions sent to you via email.

- Follow-up text messages on the day of and the day after any significant treatments, especially if they're new to you.

- A contact number for reaching out in case of any concerning symptoms within the first 48 hours post-treatment.

How often are maintenance visits recommended to sustain results?

This really depends on the treatments undertaken with us! Skin cancer checks, without any cancers, annually. Skin and medical concerns, usually every 3 months, though appointments may be sooner initally FFA appointments will have a written sequence of appointments for the initial 4 months to get to maintenance after which usually 4 times a year.
